This gray harness assembly is constructed out of 10 AWG wire. It measures approximately 30' L (per manufacturer) overall. Features (1) inline fuse holder with a 40A 58V fuse included.
Host (2) O-ring terminal lead wires with 3/8" diameter on each end, (1) red and (1) black. Also has (2) 1/4" diameter O-ring terminals (1) red, and (1) black.
Cable reads: MM GPT 10 GA MARINE WIR SAE J378 & J1128 60V DC 105°C

Hi Peter,
It does have something to do with Smartcraft and and the battery power, but what exactly, I'm afraid we don't know. We aren't Mercury dealers, and these came to us with no instructions, etc. All we can suggest is to contact a Mercury dealer.
